Identifying Goals

This 4:01 video clip was designed for use in a sample E-Learning module on the streamlined process to design training, Action Mapping. Based on the book, Map It by Cathy Moore, it is meant to explain how to perform a proper needs analysis and identify a measurable business goal. As I am currently studying Action Mapping right now, I figured creating a video on this subject matter would be fitting. I could see any business professional, specifically those in HR, Training, IT or Creative, utilizing this clip.

I recently went on a learner’s binge 🤪 and purchased TechSmith’s software, Camtasia and SnagIt. They were pretty inexpensive (which was shocking, considering their popularity in the industry), so I figured I could afford them. Probably the wisest purchases I’ve ever made (besides my MacBook)! These programs are so intuitive and so easy-to-use; I’ve definitely become a fan. Though I developed the content in Camtasia, I did utilize a bit of SnagIt’s screen recording abilities, as well as a few Vyond animations. I incorporated animation effects, transitions and images, in order to hold the learner’s attention. I wanted those viewing the clip to be able to recall the information throughout their career, so all of the characters included in the short are business professionals. The motion background animation, and the incorporated music track were both included in my Camtasia library.

I can definitely see myself utilizing this software to create short video clips in the future. These particular programs are tools anyone can use develop a quality video.
